About My Practice

56b64a2b-3d73-47ae-9e18-4fd419e31685_edi

I take inspiration from  abandoned, damaged and historical discarded wares,  my creations allow for the rediscovery of obsolete objects and surface patterns otherwise destined to be stored away and forgotten, by mixing various materials and techniques I give new life to historical objects and motifs.

My ceramic sculptures bring  together crafts and fine arts, combining the hard materiality of objects like cups and plates with the softness of embroidered and printed cloths creating hybrid objects, I use the industrial process of sandblasting, cutting and drilling the ceramic to deconstruct , and juxtapose these methods with  refined techniques of print and hand embroidery to reconstruct
